Two-factor authentication

We always recommend enabling two-factor authentication to increase the security of your account

Two-factor authentication protects your sensitive information by adding an extra layer of security during sign-in. 2FA requires two separate types of sign-in confirmation, making unauthorized access difficult even if the password gets compromised.

To set up 2FA, you will need Passwork 2FA mobile app or a third-party app that supports TOTP technology, such as Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator.

2FA settings

Two-factor authentication settings can be customized in the 2FA settings section of the Authorization and 2FA page. You can access the page either from the Settings and users menu or by clicking the My account button:

In the 2FA settings section, click Connect, choose the app you are going to use and click Next.

Passwork 2FA app

Select the Passwork 2FA app option and download the application if it is not already installed on your mobile device. Passwork 2FA app is available for iOS and Android.

Passwork 2FA app supports both an online and offline modes.

Connect Passwork 2FA online

If your Passwork server is connected to the Internet, choose the Online option and scan the QR code:

Connect Passwork 2FA offline

Even if Internet connection is not available, you will always be able to log in using one-time passwords, which are automatically generated inside the app.

To do so, go to the Offline tab and enter the one-time password from the Passwork 2FA app:

Third-party 2FA app

You can use any third-party application, such as Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator, to set up two-factor authentication within Passwork.

Connect an app by scanning the QR code or entering a one-time password:

After setting up two-factor authentication, the 2FA settings section will allow you to test 2FA, download the Passwork 2FA app, reset 2FA and set it up again.

Enable or disable 2FA

You can disable two-factor authentication and then re-enable it as needed without having to set it up again:
