Share password
You can share a password kept in Passwork in three different ways:
- Send password to other Passwork users to share passwords with others directly within Passwork.
- Create a shortcut for quick access to the password from another directory.
- Create a link which you can share with someone outside Passwork.
You can send a password to another Passwork user without granting them access to the entire vault or folder. This functionality also allows you to track all the passwords you have sent, manage users' access to a shared password, or delete them through the Additional access window.
1. Select a password you wish to send 2. Open the sharing menu 3. Click Send to user
In the pop-up window, select one or more users and customize the access level for each user individually:
1. Choose one or more users and set their access rights 2. Add more users if needed 3. Click Send password to share it with the selected users
Users with Read and edit access can modify the received password, and all changes will be applied to the original password.
You can view the list of users who have been granted access to the password and their access levels in the additional access window
You can share a password by creating a shortcut for it in another vault or folder. Users will be able to view and edit the shortcut, but not the password itself, based on their access rights in that directory.
1. Select a password 2. Go to the Password share menu 3. Select Create shortcut
1. Choose directory where you want to create the shortcut 2. Click Create shortcut
Another way to create a shorcut is by dragging and dropping one or multiple passwords into another location.
1. Drag the password to a different location
1. Select Create shortcut to confirm
The link allows you to share the password with someone who is not registered in Passwork.
1. Select a password 2. Go to the Password share menu 3. Select Create link
There are two types of links: reusable and single-use. For each type, you can set an expiration time (one hour, one day, one week or unlimited). A one-time link expires three minutes after the user opens it.
1. View the link to the password 2. Choose the link type and expiration time 3. Click Create and copy
You can delete a specific link or view the list of all created links, their creation date, the user who created the link, the number of views, and the expiration date in the Password additional access window.
You can delete an individual link, shortcut, or shared password by clicking the cross icon that appears on the right in the Additional access window when you hover over the item.
1. Go to the Links, Shortcuts, or Sent passwords tab 2. Click the cross icon on the right of the item to delete it
Additionally, you can delete multiple items at once by selecting them with checkboxes and clicking Delete in the dropdown menu in the additional access window.
1. Go to the Links, Shortcuts, or Sent passwords tab 2. Select the items you want to delete 3. Open the Choose action dropdown menu and click Delete
